The Real Deal about the Blockbuster Online

...and what will soon be known as the Total Access Pass

Okay, yes I work for BB, but I have to say that this new marketing strategy is genius. And this coming from someone who has really come to hate Blockbuster. We all know Netflix and maybe they did come up with the mail movie rental idea, but Netflix better prepare themselves.

Starting in early November, the online will get even better. Who knows if they will ever make their website as consumer-friendly as Netflix, but soon you can return your online mailers to your local video store. Ever get pissed off that the stupid USPS/Blockbuster connection makes your movies take 3 days to travel less than an hour? Let's say you get your movie and you watch it. Now instead of having to send it back you can take it to the BB store down the street.

What this means:

1. Your movie gets checked in much sooner.
2. You get a free rental in-store for every online mailer you return to the store.
3. You still get an additional movie sent from your queue on blockbuster.com
4. That movie gets to you much quicker

So instead of the usual 3-4 day turnaround, you are now looking at 1 day plus extra free rentals in addition to the free rentals Blockbuster gives you once a week.

Pay attention to the word free.

Like it?

Try this.....

go to blockbuster.com/trial

and enter 37111 in the promo code spot

and you will get a month free of the online.

You're welcome.

For all Bachelor fans

Because I wrote so much about last season of The Bachelor, I feel compelled to include this link to a recent interview of Sarah Stone (the woman Travis chose in the finale). I have to say it's great to know that their split was amicable--that Travis made it to Denver where he can climb mountains and go white water rafting to his heart's content and that Sarah has started a new career in real estate. May they both find happiness and let's hope this is the end of my obsession with The Bachelor. Let's call it growing up. Well, at least until news breaks in 5 years that these two got back together. Okay back to the real world now.
